The Gift Guide Diaries - For Your Little Girl

If you are shopping for a little girl this year, you are in the right place. Having a three year old of my own means I am fully immersed in the world of sparkles, twirls, and tiny treasures. I really can't complain though - I'm (secretly) enjoying it too! Emmy loves absolutely anything that feels fun or magical, so this list is a mix of things she already adores and things I know would make her light up. Consider this your guide to easy gifting for ages three to five.



This is the real MVP on travel days. My girl watches her shows or plays her games and suddenly long drives feel like a breeze. Trust me when I say, get the carrying case to go with it. And yes, I said I would never be "that mom" but I am totally "that mom" now. Pick your battles...


These are the unsung heroes. Emmy pops them on and feels like such a big girl. I get quiet. Everyone wins.


Emmy could wear a princess dress to the grocery store if I let her. The twirls are serious and the sparkles add a whole new level of confidence.


A doll with her name or one that looks like her makes it feel like a built in best friend. Emmy would carry her everywhere.


We might be surprising the kiddos to an extra special, magical trip this Christmas and this felt like the perfect addition. Plus, Emmy loves anything that feels “hers.” A little backpack with her name is perfect for preschool and for hauling around treasures that absolutely cannot be left behind.


We are firmly in the Minnie era over here. A puzzle with Minnie on it keeps her entertained and feeling proud when she finishes it.


Emmy is in her Elsa phase so this is gold. She gets to play with makeup and I do not have to scrub real lipstick off the walls.


If you could hear Emmy sing you would understand. Every day is a concert in our house. This would make her feel like a superstar.


Bath time sometimes needs a little boost and these do the trick. Emmy loves coloring the scrubbies and washing them clean. I love that she actually gets in the tub without negotiating.


The cutest little reading spot. Emmy curls up in chairs like this and looks so tiny and sweet.


11. Skirt and Sweater from Gymboree

This is the combination that turns any random Tuesday into a full photoshoot. Emmy loves a twirly skirt and soft sweater.


Emmy is convinced sparkles make her run faster. Who am I to argue. They are adorable and comfy which is all I need.


We have entered the bedtime story era and these are perfect. Sweet. Classic. And just long enough to count as reading without dragging bedtime out too far.


Emmy loves pretending to take photos so giving her a real little camera would make her day. Kids see the funniest things and I love getting a peek into her brain.


Tiny accessory. Big feelings. Emmy loves carrying her own things so a little camera bag seals the deal.
