Holiday Travel Make-Up

‘Tis the season for family, friends, and travel! Whether it’s just a weekend trip or a trip across the country, there is no reason to skimp on your make-up. Holiday pictures are sure to be taken after all!

Keeping things simple (and TSA approved) isn’t as hard as it looks! Here are some of my favorite travel beauty must-haves.

Bare Minerals has been my go-to for years! It allows me to get great coverage without looking too “cakey” and as far as foundation goes, it’s relatively “good” for your skin. Plus, it’s not liquid which means it’s no hassle to fly with. Their Original Foundation SPF 15, Mineral Veil Finishing Powder, Well-Rested Under Eye Brightener, and Warmth All Over Face Color are my staples.

Golds, browns, grays, blacks…I prefer neutrals when it comes to eye shadow. I have dark brown eyes and feel like these colors compliment both my skin tone and eye color  – they are universal and go with everything!

I swipe a light color on my brow bone, a dark color in my crease, and I use the black as my eyeliner. *tip: if you wet an angle brush, you can get the PERFECT cat eye! Curl your lashes and throw on your favorite mascara and voila!

I always finish with a highlighter on the bridge of my nose, above my lips, and on my upper cheek bones for a glow. Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit is my favorite. If you want to pack a little lighter, leave out the Bare Minerals all over warmth and use the bronzer included in the glow kit.

If it’s day time, I’m satisfied with a little bit of lip gloss. If it’s an evening, I love a bold red lip. Check out the Real Her Res Lip Kit. It includes a lip liner, lipstick, and a gloss. It’s the perfect red!

Keeping your makeup routine light and simple saves you time, keeps travel quick and easy, and you still achieve a full face of make-up that looks completed and holiday ready!

Daily Skincare Routine

When I was younger, I thought that a consistent skincare routine was intended specifically for preventing and ridding your skin of breakouts and acne. As an adult, I now understand that a good, consistent skin care routine (and hydration of course) is the KEY to healthy looking skin.

As an aesthetician, I am surrounded by different skin care products and lines, and I am constantly asking questions about the latest and greatest. It wasn’t until I began working for Hollie and Lips and Lines, that I was introduced to Skin Medica. It has completely changed my skin!

Skin Medica was founded by physicians and is backed by almost 20 years of research. Their products work in conjunction with your skin type to heal, transform, and give you the specific results you are looking for. After seeing some of the results Skin Medica can produce first-hand, it was a no brainer and I made the jump.

Other than the occasional break out, I really don’t struggle with acne. That being said, time does not discriminate. Sun exposure, tanning beds, environmental pollutants, the food we eat, the things we drink…it all has an inevitable, negative affect on our skin. It’s no myth that our skin starts to age in our 20’s, but it’s also not realistic to think I can avoid the sun my whole life. For that reason, I needed a skin care line that focused on anti-aging or in my case anti-age prevention. We can’t stop time, but we can certainly slow it down, right? All of that being said, I want to share my super quick and easy a.m. and p.m. skin care routines and the amazing products that coincide.

Take a Breath

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic and progressive disease inherited when both parents pass along the CF gene.  CF affects both the digestive and respiratory systems by causing an excess of mucus in the lungs, pancreas, and reproductive organs. This begins to cause a problem when the lungs begin to clog with mucus, trapping infection and blocking the airways. Learn more about CF and my story here. TICKETS

Currently, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation receives $0.00 in Federal funding. This means that every dollar raised to find a cure is done so through private donations and events.

Each year, the Arkansas Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation holds an event called Weekend with the Finest, complete with a golf tournament and fashion show. I had the privilege of being a part of the Walk this Way Fashion Show two years ago and it is a blast! Check out our runway video made by Jade Howard for a glimpse into what you can expect. It is an incredible event that you don’t want to miss! What is more fun than getting dressed up, eating good food, watching a phenomenal fashion show, and donating to a great cause?! If you would like to be a part, tickets can be purchased HERE!
